Visit of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq to the Federal Supreme Court

The President of the Federal Supreme Court received on Tuesday, 21/1/2025, at the headquarters of the Federal Supreme Court in Baghdad, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq.

The President of the Federal Supreme Court, Judge Jassim Mohammed Abboud, welcomed the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq, Mr. Mohammed Al-Hassan, and his accompanying delegation, and during this meeting they reviewed the relations between Iraq and the international organization and the latest developments in the region.

Mr. Mohammed Al-Hassan praised the positive role of the Court through the decisions issued by it in preserving the supremacy of the Constitution, which leads to the preservation of the public rights and freedoms of the Iraqi people, laying the correct foundations for the correct democratic construction and providing services to the people by embodying the principles of the rule of law and considering the people as the source of authorities and their legitimacy.
