
The Federal Supreme Court organizes the Second Iraqi Constitutional Judiciary Forum

Today, Wednesday, 22/1/2025, the Federal Supreme Court organized the Second Iraqi Constitutional Judiciary Forum in cooperation with the College of Law at the University of Baghdad.
The forum, which was held at the College of Law building at the University of Baghdad, was attended by the President and members of the Federal Supreme Court, and a number of law professors and specialists.
The attendees discussed the constitutional and legal system of the Federal Supreme Court, in terms of composition, competencies and the authority of judgments and decisions.
The second axis was devoted to the Federal Supreme Court system, in terms of procedures and conditions for challenging the General Budget Law and the Elections Law.
The third axis dealt with the role of the Federal Supreme Court in protecting the constitution, in terms of confrontation, reversal and constitutional deficiency.
The objectives of the forum focused on consolidating the concept of constitutional justice and highlighting its political, economic and social dimensions, as well as contributing through academic research to the legislative, structural and procedural development of constitutional courts.
The forum stressed the complementary role between the views of constitutional jurisprudence and the decisions of the constitutional judiciary, and the establishment of links between the academic and judicial legal communities, with the exchange of ideas and experiences in the field of jurisprudence and constitutional judiciary.
