In the lawsuit challenging the constitutionality: (Extending the work of the Kurdistan region for one year due to the expiration of its term)

   Today, Tuesday (31/1/2023), the Federal Supreme Court decided in the constitutional lawsuit No. (233 - Federal - 2022) and its units, filed by the plaintiff Sarwa Abdul Wahid Qadir and her group against the defendants, both the Speaker of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament and the President of the Kurdistan Region, in addition to their functions, to challenge the unconstitutionality of Law No. (12) of 2022 (Law on the Continuation of the Fifth Session of the Kurdistan Parliament), to postpone the date of the pleading, due to the absence of the defendant's agents, the Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Kurdistan Region, in addition to his job for bad weather and for the purpose of completing Court audits thereof, and setting 7/2/2023 as the date for pleading.
