The Federal Supreme Court rules to terminate the work of the provincial councils of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq due to the end of their electoral cycle

The Federal Supreme Court decided to rule that Article (2) of Law No. (2) of 2019, the First Amendment Law of the Governorates of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq No. (3) of 2009, is unconstitutional for violating the provisions of Articles (2/1st/Beh and Jim) and (6) of the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq for the year 2005 according to the ruling decision issued No. (124/Federal/2023) on 24/9/2023.
