Federal Supreme Court dismisses Cardinal Mar Louis Sako's lawsuit

The Federal Supreme Court considered the lawsuit No. 186/Federal/2022, which includes challenging the validity of the procedures for withdrawing the presidential decree appointing Cardinal Mar Louis Raphael I Sako, Patriarch of Babylon.
The Federal Supreme Court decided to dismiss the lawsuit of the plaintiff Cardinal Mar Louis Raphael I Sako, Patriarch of Babylon, against the Chaldeans in Iraq and the world for lack of prejudice to the validity of the procedures for issuing Presidential Decree No. (31) of 2023 published in the Iraqi Gazette No. (4727) dated 3/7/2023 issued by the defendant President of the Republic/ being in this capacity that includes the withdrawal of Presidential Decree No. (147) of 2013, which was decided by paragraph (1st) of which it was decided to appoint Patriarch Mar Louis Raphael I Sako Patriarch Babylon on the Chaldeans in Iraq and the world and taking over its endowments.
